The past couple of years have been very difficult on us as a nation, communities, families and individuals as we have tried to navigate the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have had to adapt to the new normal of wearing masks, social distancing, vaccinating, and online work and school. CAIR-Philadelphia is no exception and as the leading civil rights organization for Muslims in our area, we too have had to adjust.
We made the difficult decision in 2020 to cancel our banquet 2 days before the event, to protect our community against an enemy we did not know would take as many lives as it has. In 2021, we again decided that it was in the best interest of our community to cancel the banquet yet again. This year, after much thought and deliberation, we have decided that it is possible for us to hold our annual banquet by implementing standard COVID-19 safety protocols and mitigations that will allow us to come together as a community in the safest way possible. I am very excited to announce that our annual fundraising banquet titled “From Hope to Healing” will be held on March 12, 2022, at the Springfield Country Club.
Please join us as we showcase for you our achievements and help us to continue providing our services to the community by donating generously. As always, we have a stellar line-up for you with Dr. Omar Suleiman as our keynote speaker and Sister Nadirah Pierre bringing some smiles and laughs to the evening. For the first time, we will be providing a childcare program for toddlers, managed by Sister Nafeesa Malik, so that more families are able to attend and enjoy the evening knowing that their children are cared for just a few doors down the hall.
Please be sure to get your tickets ASAP, as we have reduced the number of attendees this year. And if you cannot make it, please be sure to donate.
