CAIR-PA at Islamic Society of Delaware (ISD) Summer Fest 2010!

On Saturday June 12th, CAIR-PA was one of the many vendors that arranged their table under the shaded pavilion outside of Masjid Ibraheem. Placed right next to a furniture stand and a brother selling sweet smelling oils, the parking lot of the Masjid was transformed into a festival. Children rushed on the rides and ran towards the ice cream truck. Individuals of all faiths joined together to meet their Muslim neighbors, purchase clothing and eat very tasty food. It was a fun-filled event for the whole neighborhood!

For CAIR-PA, it was a great opportunity to support the community in Newark. The civil rights department does receive discrimination complaints from Delaware; the most recent being the DMV hijab case. CAIR-PA staff conducted a Know Your Rights workshop at Masjid Ibraheem in February. We plan to work with more communities in the future.
