CAIR-PA presents at Washington, D.C. conference and at St. Joseph’s University

On April 3, 2011, Executive Director Moein Khawaja traveled to Washington D.C. to present at the South Asian Summit sponsored by SAALT, or South Asian Americans Leading Together. The South Asian Summit is a national conference to raise issues concerning South Asian communities, and collectively strategize for solutions and future collaborations.  Moein Khawaja spoke to about 75 civil rights leaders from around the country regarding the importance of handling civil rights cases on a more holistic level – making sure the complainant is not just left with a victory, but a healthier environment than before.

On April 7, 2011, Executive Director Moein Khawaja presented an Understanding & Challenging Islamophobia seminar to 30 students in a class at St. Joseph’s University here in Philadelphia.  Students learned the root causes of Islamophobia and the misinformation it produces, along with steps they can take as Americans to challenge it.  The one hour presentation included many questions and comments from the students.  CAIR-PA thanks St. Joseph’s University for the invitation. Request an Understanding and Challening Islamophobia seminar today.
