REGISTER NOW: 10th National Muslim Advocacy Day On Capitol Hill – USCMO
This milestone event will bring together American Muslim organizations, leaders, activists, and constituents from across the country to directly engage with members of Congress on policies that impact our communities. Every year, Muslims from across the country gather and share their event experiences online using the hashtag #MuslimHillDay.
At a time of escalating global crises and shifting political priorities, American Muslims must stand together to uphold justice, human rights, and democratic values. From the devastation in Gaza, the ongoing violence in Sudan, and the persecution of Uyghur Muslims in China, to the threats against civil rights and religious freedoms here in the U.S., our advocacy efforts are more urgent than ever. This year’s National Muslim Advocacy Day will focus on holding our elected officials accountable and ensuring that our communities have a strong voice in shaping policies that affect us all.
Legislative Agenda
This year, we will be urging Congress to take action on the following key issues:
- Maintaining a Ceasefire and Rebuilding Palestine – Supporting diplomatic efforts for a permanent ceasefire and funding humanitarian aid for Palestinian reconstruction.
- Ending U.S. Military Funding for Weapons to Israel – Calling for an end to taxpayer-funded military assistance that enables human rights violations.
- Protecting the Tax-Exempt Status of Nonprofits – Defending charitable organizations from politically motivated attacks that seek to restrict their ability to serve communities.
- Immigration, Law Enforcement Reform, and Watchlist Abuses – Addressing discriminatory immigration policies, advocating for meaningful law enforcement reforms, and challenging the unconstitutional use of watchlists that target Muslim Americans.
- Safeguarding Freedom of Speech – Resisting efforts to criminalize or silence advocacy for Palestinian human rights and ensuring that all communities can freely express their views without fear of retaliation.
- Protecting Arab, Muslim, and Palestinian Students – Calling for greater protections against hate crimes, discrimination, and censorship on college campuses amid rising Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian sentiment.
- Standing Against Human Rights Abuses in Sudan and China – Urging Congress to take meaningful action to address the atrocities in Sudan and hold the Chinese government accountable for its ongoing genocide against Uyghur Muslims.
- Supporting Key Muslim Community Legislation – Encouraging lawmakers to endorse and pass critical bills.
For the past decade, National Muslim Advocacy Day (#MuslimHillDay) has been a powerful opportunity for our communities to engage with lawmakers, strengthen our political voice, and hold elected officials accountable. With increasing challenges to civil rights and foreign policy decisions that impact global Muslim communities, this year’s advocacy efforts are more urgent than ever.
We join USCMO and its member organizations in inviting all American Muslims to participate in this historic event, meet with their representatives, and help drive meaningful policy change.
