A note from CAIR-Philadelphia on the passing of Brother Ahmed Amer

Assalaamu Alaikum,

CAIR-Philadelphia sadly announces the passing of Brother Ahmed Amer.

In addition to being a loyal and strong supporter of CAIR, Br. Ahmed Amer was a long-time member of the Islamic Society of Delaware and the Muslim Center of Wilmington.

CAIR extends our deepest condolences to Br. Ahmed Amer’s family and friends.

Dear Community Members,

Brother Ahmed Amer Passed Away – Salatul Janaza on Thursday May 29 after Duhr at ISD

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un

Long-time community member Br. Ahmed Amer passed away this evening. May Allah (SWT) grant him maghfirah and the highest status in Jannatul-Firdouse. Please keep the family members of the deceased in your prayers. May Allah SWT grant them patience and strength to bear this great loss. Ameen.

Br. Ahmed Amer was an active member of our community who had helped and supported our society in many ways. He was one of the pioneers who helped establish Islamic Society of Delaware and the Muslim Center of Wilmington. He was known for his generosity in supporting education and in feeding the poor and hungry. As founder of Amer Industries, he has left memorable footprints across the business community of Delaware and Southeast Pennsylvania. ?

Salat-ul-Janazah will take place on Thursday, May 28 at Masjid Ibrahim after Duhr Prayer followed by burial at:

Wilmington, DE 19805

Br. Amer’s family will receive condolences at Masjid Ibrahim between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
