CAIR-PA has received a steady influx of complaints of discrimination. Today, CAIR-PA successfully resolved a case in which a Muslim woman was forced to remove her head scarf, or hijab, when entering a Prometric testing center. Prometric headquarters has disciplined the employee, instituted mandatory re-training for all employees at the center, issued a formal apology to the Muslim woman, given her a full refund and an opportunity to retake the test. We thank Prometric for its prompt response and diligence in this matter. By stepping forward, the Muslim woman has ensured the rights of all religious minorities.
CAIR-PA is also working on 2 cases of severe school bullying, one which received media attention. Two other cases involving employment harassment and discrimination are also being processed.
