Philadelphia Community Access Media (PhillyCAM) Spotlights CAIR-Philadelphia as December Member of the Month

We are pleased and honored to be PhillyCAM’s Member of the Month! PhillyCAM is a non-profit agency designated by the City of Philadelphia to operate its public access television network. We have been a member for two years now, and are currently involved with producing a short documentary to be aired soon. CAIR-Philadelphia’s Outreach and Communications Director, Rugiatu Conteh, was featured in last week’s PhillyCAM newsletter and CAIR-Philadelphia’s profile is posted on their website.

Check out CAIR-Philadelphia’s profile:

When it comes to talking about or portraying Muslims and diversity of the Muslim American experience in mainstream media, quite frankly, it’s negative or inaccurate. We at CAIR-Philadelphia joined PhillyCAM because we believe in the power of community media. We believe that it is up to us to create media that documents our experience, our struggles and our history. Click here to read more…
