And the Oscar Goes to โ€ฆ Our Community! ๐Ÿ’Œ

We are Grateful for your Support!

Dear CAIR-Philadelphia community,

On behalf of our chapter, we want to thank our community for showing up so strongly for our banquet. We had a beautifully diverse room full of community members from across the region!

On Saturday, March 11, 2023, we were blessed to be with you at CAIR-Philadelphia’s 16th Annual Banquet! We raised close to 30% of our annual budget of $652,000 thanks to your generosity.

We also shared with our community our 2022 Annual Impact Report at the banquet. Please review the report and let us know your comments. If you were not able to join us on Saturday, please read a quick summary below and consider supporting us online at pa.cair.com/donate

Please know that we value every single donation, regardless of the amount; your support makes a difference to our work.

To all of our community who were able to join us from near and far to support our fundraiser, we extend a heartfelt THANK YOU! Many thanks also to our sponsors (see them below) for supporting our program!

We were joined by more than 700 American Muslims, social justice activists, family, friends, and allies, along with political, community, religious and interfaith leaders, and representatives from almost all of the Delaware Valley’s many Islamic centers and mosques.

The evening highlighted CAIR-Philadelphia’s civil rights work and featured keynote speaker, Shaykha Ieasha Prime.

The banquet was MCed by Hamna Chaudhry from Villanova University, who will be joining CAIR-Philadelphia this summer as a summer legal fellow. Following the reception where vendors engaged with our community and Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon addressed the audience, the program started with a beautiful recitation by Hafidh Mosaab Zein from Tajan Qur’an Institute in Allentown, PA.

World-renowned faith leader Shaykha Ieasha Prime emphasized the need for CAIR-Philadelphia’s ongoing services to the area Muslims, and she encouraged our community to fully embrace our faith and its communal responsibilities.

Once again, CAIR-Philadelphia Creative Director Jacob Bender directed a dramatic presentation featuring CAIR-Philadelphia’s civil rights and advocacy work, presented by CAIR-Philadelphia staff members Timothy Welbeck, Asiyah Jones, and Ahmet Tekelioglu, alongside community members George Lane, Esraa Abdelalim, Geeda Al-Haffar, Baba Kenya, Aisha Chaudhry, Zehra Wamiq, and Habibullah Jeff Ghafary

The evening concluded with standup comedy by prominent comic and political commentator Dean Obeidallah
