Outreach and Communications Director Rugiatu Conteh and Civil Rights Director Amara Chaudhry were on WURD 900 AM, the Nick Taliaferro show, on Tuesday discussing the aftermath of 9/11 in terms of community relations and legal and governmental ramifications while clearing up myths about Muslims and the Islamic faith. Staff were scheduled to speak on the live radio show for an hour, but the host kept them on longer to respond to callers that tied up the studio phone lines. It was a fruitful conversation as even the host, Nick Taliaferro, was educated on the diversity of the “American Muslim experience”.
