CAIR-Philadelphia Responds to Penn Law professor Amy Wax’s racist remarks on Tucker Carlson Today

University of Pennsylvania law professor Amy Wax, who has a history of making inflammatory and racist statements, is drawing public ire again.

In an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson last week, she said “non-Western peoples,” and specifically Black Americans, harbor resentment and shame over Western achievements.

CAIR-Philadelphia Civil Rights Attorney Timothy N. Welbeck, Esq. stated: “Professor Wax’s commentary on Tucker Carlson Today represents the brand of racist, xenophobic remarks she has made in the past. They further represent the type of animus that continues to foment rage and resentment towards people of color. These sentiments have no bearing in truth and offer no value to the public discourse. We renounce these statements, stand with all those harmed by them, and encourage the University of Pennsylvania to further review how these statements may impact Professor’s Wax’s teaching and scholarship.”
