(Philadelphia, PA 7/13/09) – The Philadelphia Chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-PA) is pleased to announce we are now accepting applications for the inaugural conference of our Muslim Youth Leadership Program (MYLP).
The Muslim Youth Leadership Program’s overall goal is to prepare young Muslims to proactively address critical issues facing the Muslim community in the fields of civil rights, public relations and civic participation.
This free 2-day Fall 2009 Conference will focus on civil rights advocacy and teach local high school students how to assert their rights to prevent injustices against themselves and the community; explore civil rights career fields and provide volunteer opportunities conducive to utilizing their newfound skills.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: August 28, 2009
ELIGIBILITY: Currently-enrolled high school students living in Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester & Delaware Counties
