Central PA Organizer, CAIR-Philadelphia
Fareba was born in Afghanistan and raised in Central PA, currently residing in Mechanicsburg, PA. She is a proud alumna of Penn State, where she earned her degree in Elementary Education. Eager to further her impact, she is currently pursuing a TESOL master’s degree at Wilson College and she is currently an English Language Development (ELD) teacher in a high school.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Fareba is a passionate advocate for women’s health and empowerment. Every Sunday, she leads a kickboxing class for women, providing a space for fitness and empowerment. Collaborating with the Islamic Center of Pennsylvania (ICP Mosque), she actively works to introduce more fitness classes for women in the community, aiming to address not only physical well-being but also mental health.
With a keen eye on the future, Fareba envisions creating awareness to amplify women’s voices and contribute to positive changes in politics. By joining CAIR-Philadelphia, Fareba will play a crucial role in organizing community events and advocating for the Central PA community, including working on a specific project to further full access to voting rights. Her dedication to fostering a supportive environment for Muslim women aligns seamlessly with CAIR’s mission, making her a valuable asset to the organization.
