CAIR-Philadelphia Condemns Distribution of White Supremacist Propaganda in Springfield Township

(PHILADELPHIA, PA, 2/1/2023) – The Philadelphia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Philadelphia), a chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the distribution of white supremacist propaganda pamphlets in Springfield Township in Montgomery County, including in Cheltenham, Glenside, Flourtown and Wyndmoor.

Local residents reported baggies were left on their doorsteps containing one flyer that read “Our children pay the price for our inaction – Stand up white man” and another containing an ad for a white supremacist propaganda film entitled “Europa: The Last Battle.” Police departments in the area reportedly could not identify video footage to help determine who may have left the flyers.

“We share the community’s concerns about this hateful and instigating language that targeted residents of our neighborhoods,” said CAIR-Philadelphia Executive Director Dr. Ahmet Tekelioglu.

He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
