Interfaith Leaders to Demand that President-Elect Trump Denounce anti-Muslim Attacks and Respect Civil Rights of All Americans

(PHILADELPHIA, PA, 11/11/16) – On Monday, November 14, the Philadelphia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic (CAIR-Philadelphia), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will hold a news conference, together with leaders of other faith communities, to offer reactions to the election of Donald Trump as the 45th president.

At the news conference, participants will insist that the Trump administration respect the civil rights of all the residents of our country and denounce the attacks on Muslims and other minorities that have occurred since the election.

Press conference participants will also announce that the Muslim community and all those committed to social justice will use all legal means to protect the gains made during the last 50 years for minority groups, and pledge to work together against all forms of hate and bigotry in the furtherance of our shared values of justice and peace.

The Philadelphia-based Muslim civil rights group is asking Muslim community members to report any bias incidents to police and to CAIR at https://pa.cair.com/report/
