PRESS CONFERENCE: CAIR-PA TO LAUNCH CAMPAIGN AGAINST ANTI-MUSLIM TEXTBOOKS & RESPOND TO TERROR RELATED INCIDENTS IN PHILADELPHIA
Books distributed across 30 states nationwide to school children ages 10 and up filled with anti-Muslim bigotry, stereotypes, distortions and inaccuracies
(PHILADELPHIA, PA, 3/15/10) The Philadelphia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-PA) will hold a press conference to discuss the distribution of deceptive and inaccurate books on Islam and Muslims by a Philadelphia based publishing company and will launch a nationwide campaign to address the presence of anti-Muslim propaganda in schools.
CAIR-PA and local Muslim leaders will also discuss the recent developments surrounding the arrests of suspected terrorists from the Philadelphia area and challenge anti-Muslim sentiment, such as the aforementioned textbooks, that may arise from these incidents.
