Media Advisory: Family of Parady La and Advocacy Groups to Publicly Demand Accountability After Death in ICE Custody

(PHILADELPHIA, PA, 2/3/2026) — The family of Parady La, who died in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody on January 9th, 2026, will hold a press conference on Thursday, February 5, with community and legal organizations to demand answers and full transparency about the circumstances of his detention and death. The ACLU of Pennsylvania will announce the filing of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request on behalf of the La family. Together, the La family, ACLU-PA, and immigrant rights advocates will call for the immediate release of records, video footage, and relevant policies to help uncover the truth about Mr. La’s treatment in ICE custody—and to demand an end to immigrant detention centers and escalating terror in our communities.
