(PHILADELPHIA, PA, 3/23/2023) – The Philadelphia Chapter of Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-Philadelphia) will join the opening ceremony of Khair Community Center (KCC), a new mosque and community center opening in Phoenixville, Montgomery County.
The new Center located at Upper Providence Township recently completed construction of its Phase 1 and will host a grand opening ceremony for political, civic, and interfaith leaders including Pennsylvania Secretary of Policy and Planning Akbar Hossain, Ursinus College President Robyn Hannigan, Pennsylvania State Rep. Tarik Khan, among others.

A result of the organic growth of the area’s Muslim community, KCC will serve Montgomery, Chester, Philadelphia, and Bucks counties and beyond. Led by a young and dynamic team, the new Center is located at 1079 Egypt Road in Phoenixville, PA.
In a statement, KCC President Bilal Baqai said:
“We are excited to open our Center that will be a resource not only for our growing Muslim community but also our broader community. It’s truly inspiring to see the support of our community and allies. At a time when many note religion is dying, we are seeking to showcase the dynamic and youthful community that has made this project a reality.”
Phase 1 of the KCC project includes a large prayer hall, kitchen and cafeteria space, and modern classrooms. The facility is equipped with building automation to provide sustainable operations. Phase 2 of the project includes a full-sized gym, co-working space, cafe, additional classroom space, youth center, and more.
