(PHILADELPHIA, PA, 3/29/2022) – The Philadelphia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Philadelphia), today condemned antisemitic and white supremacist propaganda leaflets distributed to residents in Bangor Borough and Washington Township in Northampton County.
The leaflets were discovered outside homes in Northampton County on Monday. Residents reported the leaflets to police, who asked for the public’s help in investigating the intimidation attempt. “The Bangor Police Department denounces hate in any form,” Bangor Police Chief Scott Felchock stated, “if anyone has video of a vehicle or person, please forward it to your local police department.” Information on the incidents has also been forwarded to the FBI.
“We condemn the distribution of this antisemitic and white supremacist propaganda, which is designed to intimidate minority communities and spread hate,” said CAIR-Philadelphia Outreach and Education Director Ahmet Tekelioglu. “We stand in solidarity with Northampton County residents of all faiths and backgrounds.”
The American Muslim community and CAIR stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, white supremacy, anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and all other forms of bigotry.”
