(Philadelphia, PA, 5/8/08) – The Philadelphia chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations – Pennsylvania and Common Humanity will jointly lead a humanitarian delegation from USA to Damascus, Syria from May 11th to May 18th, 2008 to visit Iraqi War refugees.
The specific purpose of the visit is to learn more about the needs of Iraqi War refugees in Syria and find ways to respond to those needs through Syrian humanitarian agencies. In addition, the delegation will build bridges of friendship and communication between people in the U.S. and in Syria.
