CAIR-PA completes 10 week course on “Understanding Islam and Muslims” at Grove United Methodist Church

(Philadelphia, PA, 4/21/08) – The Philadelphia Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations Pennsylvania (CAIR-PA) completed a 10 week course on “Understanding Islam and Muslims” at the Grove United Methodist Church in West Chester PA. Some 25 members participated in the 10 week long course which was conducted by CAIR-PA Chair Iftekhar Hussain.

“The course taught me a framework and a vocabulary to understand Islam, Muslims and world events,” said one participant in the course.

CAIR, America’s largest Muslim civil liberties group, has 32 offices, chapters and affiliates nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
