(Philadelphia, PA, 12/17/07) – The Philadelphia Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-PA) today participated in an ecumenical presentation on Islamic religious holiday traditions at Springton Middle School in Media, PA. Some 150 7th graders and their teachers attended the workshop which was conducted by CAIR-PA Board member Iftekhar Hussain.
“Many of our students have very little — if any — direct knowledge of Islam, and I think CAIR-PA’s explanation of Islamic faith and culture was extremely valuable and effective”, said Todd Brown, teacher and event coordinator at Springton Middle School.
