  • Conducted (ing) a 10 part course through multiple (six) educational & interfaith venues: Understanding Islam and Muslims through History and Jurisprudence

  • Assisted Temple University’s Sociology Department in studying 1st & 2nd generation American Muslims
  • Partnered with the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia in presenting the mini-conference entitled “The Veil”

  • Muslims Walk Against Hunger at 2005 and 2006 Hunger Walk
  • Led local region in organizing Earthquake Relief clothing drive.
  • Muslims feed local people in need under “Share Ramadan” campaign.
  • Launched the “Explore the Life of Muhammad” Campaign. To date, have supported 5 programs under the initiative:

    • 2 Screening and Lectures at the FIE
    • Mosque Open House and Panel Discussion at Muslim Association of Lehigh Valley
    • Co-Sponsored Haji Noor Deen Arabic Calligraphy and Lecture on Life of Muhammad (PBUH.)
  • Promoted “Extraordinary Lives of Muslim Women in America” Event at Robin’s Bookstore
  • Assisted local artist in research and issues of Islamic Sensitivity for new Eastern Penitentiary Exhibit “GTMO”
  • Developed a positive, working relationship with the Philadelphia Inquirer
  • Held 2 training sessions for potential instructors of the 10-part course.
  • Held press conference on understanding on behalf of the local Mosque that was discriminated against by voters. (“Islamic Leaders Issue Call for Interfaith Unity”)
  • With the Japanese American Citizen’s League, CAIR-Philly marks the internment of Japanese Americans. (Screening of film, “Caught in Between” and panel discussion on current civil liberties issues.)
  • Co-Sponsored Lecture by Dr. James Zogby at Rosemont College, “Why So Long: Peace in the Middle East.”
