Mateen has a BA in Economics and MS in Strategic Management and Executive Leadership, with eighteen years’ experience at his family’s manufacturing company, leading multiple business disciplines including finance, HR, and operations. In 2022, he transitioned to a life of service, becoming the director of the Afzal Family Foundation, whose mission is to create systems and ecosystems that disrupt cycles of inequity, providing hope, resiliency, and a model for sustainability for current and future generations.
Mateen serves in an advisory role or board capacity with numerous non-profit and faith-based organizations including Pearl S. Buck International, Zubaida Foundation, and the Bucks County Workforce Development Board, among others.
