Amirah is a dedicated individual with a fervent commitment to community service and empowerment. She discovered her calling while pursuing her Bachelor’s in Accounting at American University. While at University, she engaged deeply with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, where she assisted diverse individuals with tax returns, contributing to over a thousand federal returns in one season.
Transitioning from the world of taxes to the realm of technology, Amirah embarked on a transformative journey by enrolling in the Code Differently bootcamp. Equipped with newfound programming skills, she embraced her role as a Tech Lead for Code Differently’s High School Cohort, where she mentored and guided 100 young minds in the intricacies of Java programming. Currently, Amirah works as a Software Engineer at JP Morgan Chase & Co, channeling her expertise to drive impactful solutions and contribute to the advancement of technology.
Outside of work, Amirah enjoys outdoor activities, playing sports, traveling, and quality time with loved ones. She’s also delving into video game development, showcasing her various interests and passion for innovation.
