“Together in Hope for Healing:
Interfaith Prayers Amid COVID-19,”

CAIR Pittsburgh has joined over two dozen faith-based and community organizations to participate in
“Together in Hope for Healing: Interfaith Prayers Amid COVID-19,” the video prayer service will premiere on Christian Associates’ Facebook page, www.facebook.com/christianassociatesswpa, on Sunday, May 17 at 2 p.m.
This service includes prayers, readings, music, dance, and inspiration from clergy, lay leaders, and children representing Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Baha’i, Unitarian Universalist, Latter-Day Saint, Roman Catholic, mainline Protestant, and evangelical Protestant traditions.
Worship leaders will interact in real-time in the comments section while the service premieres. The video will remain on the page for later viewing. It will also be broadcast on KDKA’s streaming service, CBSN Pittsburgh; air times TBD, we will keep you updated.
The dozens of participants include Bishop David Zubik of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh, Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi of the Western PA Conference United Methodist Church, Rabbi Jamie Gibson of Temple Sinai, Imam Chris Caras of the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh, Bhante Pemaratana of Pittsburgh Buddhist Center, and former Pittsburgh Steeler Chris Hoke, now stake president of the Pittsburgh North Stake, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

- to provide community support and encouragement for all who areaffected by COVID-19: the sick and grieving, health care and other essential workers, those experiencing economic uncertainty, and those who are lonely and anxious;
- to foster a sense of unity across diverse people of faith;
- to name, express, normalize, and bring to God the many emotions we face during this pandemic: sorrow, grief, anxiety, fear, anger, gratitude,hope;
- and to grow from our experiences and emerge from COVID-19 as a stronger and more connected community.
