Know-Your-Rights Recap and Upcoming Events

We hope that this message greets you all in an excellent state of well being.

Summer may be winding down, but the activities and opportunities relating to outreach and activism are are plenty!

CAIR Pittsburgh continues its renewed campaign to spread awareness and ensure that all know their rights. Here are some pictures from our most recent Know-Your-Rights workshop this past weekend at An-Nur Islamic Center in Wilkinsburg. The program consisted of an engaging community meeting, followed by the workshop. A special thank you to the honorable ACLU Attorney, Mike Healey. An additional thank you to the An-Nur Islamic Center for hosting the program. It was a very informative afternoon. Please be sure to contact us if you would like us to set up a Know-Your-Rights workshop for your institution in the near future.

Please be on the lookout for the following programs, scheduled for this Fall. And PLEASE reply to let us know if you are interested in attending or planning in any of these.

• Saturday – October 3, 2015 from 9am-Dhuhr at MCCGP
• Specialist Trainer – CAIR National Communications Director – Mr. Ibrahim Hooper
• Open to all who wish to become a continuing part of Muslim Communications strength in Pittsburgh
• Breakfast and light refreshments served

• Tuesday – October 20, 2015 (All day)
• A visit to the Capitol Building in Harrisburg by a delegation of the leadership of the Pennsylvania Muslim community and its supporters
• The visit will consist of three events:
  • A rally/press conference under the Capitol Rotunda
  • Visits to State Senators and Representatives — or their staff — to express the concerns of the Muslim community to their elected officials
  • A traditional Islamic prayer
