March 6th is CAIR Pittsburgh Day of Justice, Tolerance, and Service

CAIR Pittsburgh Chapter and University of Pittsburgh MSA co-sponsor trip to CAIR Cleveland Youth Leadership Conference

CAIR Pittsburgh Chapter and the Muslim Student Association of the University of Pittsburgh co-sponsored a trip to the CAIR Cleveland Chapter Conference “Building Muslim Youth Leadership” which took place November 7th.

Leadership Scholarships were awarded by CAIR Pittsburgh Chapter to Imene Boumaza, Syed Raheel Haque, and Youssef Abdelwahab, photos below. Stay tuned for more news as these scholarship winners report what they experienced and learned at the conference.

Also, big kudos to Julia Shearson, Harvard alumna and executive director of the Cleveland office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Cleveland). She and her team of energized volunteers organized the conference and gave all us Pittsburghers a very warm welcome.

President Asim Kokan and Treasurer Safdar Khwaja spoke with Mike Pintek concerning the Fort Hood shooting incident and CAIR’s stance on defending the rule of law, both in terms supporting accountability for criminals who break the laws of the land and in protecting all citizens’ civil rights and liberties.
