As Salaamu Alaikum (Peace Be Upon You),
Our Ramadan fundraising goal was to raise $80,000 to cover our yearly budget. We are pleased to report that with your help, we’ve raised $43,000 to date. We thank you for the investment that you have made in your organization! We sincerely appreciate your confidence and support.
But we can’t stop there.
We are asking you to help us meet our goal by this December. We still need $37,000 to cover our expenses.
CAIR-Philadelphia continues to be an effective institution that safeguards civil rights and advocates for justice and mutual understanding. Our priorities are focused on the most vulnerable populations within the American Muslim community – youth and incarcerated persons, and issues that address the biggest threat to American Muslim civil rights – governmental policies enacted post 9/11 that have the intent or effect of discriminating against American Muslims.
How does this translate in your daily life?
We’ve been challenging House Bill 2029, Pennsylvania’s anti-Sharia law. This legislation sends a clear message to all Pennsylvanians that Muslims should be treated as second-class citizens. We are proud to inform you that due to our advocacy, we’ve gained statewide support. Philadelphia and Pittsburgh City Councils both passed a resolution opposing the bill. Also, the Philadelphia Bar Association passed its resolution “Affirming Religious Freedom”.
We are also addressing school bullying. Our Outreach and Communications Director conducts anti-bullying workshops to Muslim youth and their parents, and our Staff Attorney has brought this issue to the forefront of the legal community by conducting presentations to law firms.
These are just a few examples to illustrate the benefits of your investment in CAIR-Philadelphia.
Your support not only helps us to cover office and program expenses, but it allows us to recruit talented staff. The strength of CAIR-Philadelphia depends on your financial support. Make a generous monthly or one-time donation that creates a long-term foothold in American civic life.
Remember: CAIR-Philadelphia is tax-deductible and zakat-eligible, and we have earned the Guide Star Exchange Seal which demonstrates our commitment to non-profit transparency.
